Golf & Country Club Brunn

An der Süd Kante der Stadt Wien gelegen, ist es ein sehr gelungener Parkland Kurs auf engstem Raum. Eine grüne Lunge, mitten in einem Industriegebiet. Alter Baumbestand in Verbindung mit sehr vielen jungen Anpflanzung, die den Platz hervorragend abschotten, können zwar den Verkehrslärm der nahen Hauptstraßen nicht unterbinden, geben aber das Gefühl, die Stadt verlassen zu haben. Wir wurden freundlich empfangen und erhielten auf Nachfragen alle notwendigen Informationen. Leider ist auf der Scorecard keine weitere Übersicht gegeben. Jedoch ist der Platz hervorragend ausgeschildert. Hinweistafeln wie auch Richtung Schilder lassen jeden Spieler schnell den Weg finden. Abschläge und Grün liegen stets nur wenige Meter auseinander. Die Grünen Gestaltung ist vorbildlich. Oft durch Hügel umfasst oder aber besonders exponiert und mit vielen Pflanzen umgeben, gehen keine Bälle im Anspiel verloren. Überraschend viele Bunker, alles samt in sehr gutem Zustand mit scharfen Kanten. Viel Wasser, Smaragdgrün, tolles Erlebnis. Die Bahnen allerdings sind ohne Dramatik, fast schon ein wenig langweilig, sehr lang und oft gerade. Anspruchsvoll sind die Grüns. Diese sind sehr gut gepflegt und unglaublich schnell. Die übungsanlagen liegen zentral, wie auch das süße Clubhaus. Gute Küche, sehr freundlicher Service. Das Abend Greenfee würde ich jederzeit empfehlen. Für das Wochenende fahre ich lieber auf einen spannenden Golfplatz außerhalb der Stadt.

Course quite perfect, good restaurant, friendly staff BUT we never saw such hordes of people with DOGS runnning arround the Greens or trying to trimm, throwing sticks etc. - so that's the reason for our rating. Sorry but the Managament should forbit dogs & their unteachable owners!

On the way home from Adamstal we stop and this course and what a lovely surprise. Nice highlight of our weekend.

Course is part of the Austrian best courses. And as ambassador of Leadingcourses web, my review will be there as well, I can only recommend to visit.

Not difficult to reach the course, since its not far from highway and therefore you need to accept a bit noise but not bothering one, just city sounds. Clubhouse is in front of entrance and on top of nit is restaurant with patio overlooking driving range. Everything is so organized and tight there because of space. We agreed with reception to come after game to pay, we only check in. Me as dog lover I appreciate that course is dog friendly. As always no practice before game that is for beginners and people with no time :D we go directly to 1st tee. I did not have big expectation for the course in the middle of the city, but I have to admit before the game, you feel like in botanical garden. Nice trees and bushes everywhere and good work with landscape from designer.

I will point one con out right now before it will be lost in text. Quality of yellow teeboxes is average and bit bellow. The rest is perfect.

Round start with straight par 4 bit longer, but still reachable in regulation. Course itself is short and very playable, its 5500m long. Next hole par 5 is short but very spectacular with island green and beautiful lotos flowers around it. For me its signature hole, as well as 18th, I would say. Next holes are nicely shaped and maintain. Love the greens on this course they are each different nicely undulated and protected. Lot of fun there are par3, short around 130m, scorable except one. Each fairway is protected with variety of trees.

We enjoy our round and refreshment at 19th hole, and can only suggest to visit. Even the slightly higher price is accepted for such a quality, cause the greens were magnificent.

One last recommendation, would be good to have more than 1 shower for the guests, it could get busy and crowded.

Angrenzend an ein Industriegebiet ist dieser Parkkurs zwar wegen seiner Nähe zur Stadt für Wiener praktisch, aber aus der Sicht eines Golfers vor allem gemessen am hohen Preis wenig interessant: wenig anspruchsvolle Spielbahnen ohne echte Highlights.

Warum der Club ein "leading Golf course" oder Country Club sein soll, erschließt sich im Vergleich zu solchen Plätzen nicht.

Bei den hohen Greenfee Preisen ist daher auch ein schlechtes Verhältnis Preis/Leistung gegeben.

Positiv zu erwähnen sind die top gepflegten Greens und die sehr schöne Übungsanlage.

Don’t let them fool you! Although the name suggests differently, this golf course isn’t located in an idyllic mountainous environment. The ‘Gebirge’ are at quite a distance, downtown Vienna is just 30 minutes driving away.

Once on the course you are fortunately not aware of the nearby industrial activity. The track is well designed for the limited space available.

The holes are thoughtfully laid out and well taken care of, from tee box till green. The varied vegetation and strategically placed bunkers and water hazards make it a joy to play. The quality of the greens was outstanding, very hard, fast and tricky undulated. No hole is an easy par (at least not at my handicap?).

The clubhouse has a beautiful terrace, the only thing that could have been better would be a view on a hole (or two) instead of the driving range.

All in all, definitely worth playing, but keep in mind it’s not a course that situated in a typical Austrian scenery.
