Töreboda GK

Om du gillar lååånga par3 på 170m och dolda hål så är detta nirvana för dig. Ligger vackert vid sjön, absolut. Dom säger själva ”så mkt mer än hål 10”…knappast och hål 10 är inte inte mer än utsikten. Sköt många hål i blindo…

Tanten i shoppen glömde dessutom ge oss instruktioner för duschar och Wi-Fi, inte heller ett ord om att det var ombyggnation på nått hål och fullt i mua på banan… näru, hit kommer vi inte igen.

Spectacular views over the lake from most holes, hole 10 is an absolute beauti of a golf hole. Unfortunately the cource itself was in a not so good state, tee areas was not level and with many to many turf holes. Whether or not you like the design is probably individual, but it gave the impression that the 18 holes had to fit into a very small space. But again, the views make you forget all the drawbacks.

I mailed to book a T-Time (as a foreigner the online Swedish system doesn't work) and was told to just show up and they would add me with another group. And indeed they did.. Arrived at the course at 9:45 and by 9:57 I hit my T-shot on the 1st fairway, They told me I could still join the 10:00 am group..., which turned out to be starting early.

You start inland where it looks like there is plenty of room to build a golfcourse, only to realize you are hitting your opening shot over incoming traffic..

When you drive up to the clubhouse you don't realize.. it's only when you start playing you realize you actually cross that road at least 3 times.. which is kind of awkward.

The first couple of holes are quite standard opening holes, as of hole 3 you start seeing the nice scenic surrounding of the course. (That is if you don't hit the electric cabling when teeing off.. another awkward point..), Hole 4 has a really nice elevated tee, taking the left hand trees completely out of play and thus also the right hand water :) But it gives you really great views..., You arrive back at the clubhouse on hole 8.. just short walk around the driving range to hole 9. The Par 3 hole 10 is supposed to be one of the better Par 3's in Sweden... it's a straight forward 110 me shot over water, or into the lake.. but the view is nice...

When standing on the 10th tee you really wonder how they are going to squeeze in 9 more holes between the clubhouse and the water, yes its really great views... and interesting holes to play.. but its short holes... maybe you can use a wood on 3 or 4 holes on the back 9.. the rest of the holes are more testers for your iron play...

You come to play this course for the views, and they are nice and given the rather cheap greenfees it's definitely a course to enjoy... but if you are a long hitter.. keep the driver home ;).
