Über Hancock Park Golf Course
Founded in 1899 by Lewis Hancock Jr., former mayor of Austin from 1895-1897, the Hancock Golf Course stands today as one of the oldest golf courses in the state of Texas. Although the course was re-named after Mr. Hancock in 1946, it was the original site of the Austin Country Club. Today, Hancock Golf Course is located in the heart of Austin; this par 35, 9-hole course carries up and down hills and over beautiful Waller Creek. The old course is relatively short by modern standards, featuring small, well-manicured greens typical of the era in which it was built.

Hancock Park Golf CourseMidden in de stad, omgeven door de campus van de Universiteit van Texas dit pareltje. De dag ervoor een tropische storm over het gebied geraasd dus veel rondslingerde takken etc.
Toch complimenten! Baan was op bepaalde plekken nat (natste meimaand ooit hier in Texas), toch bleef hij goed speelbaar. Leuk baan die niet al te uitdagend is. Die uitdaging kan je echter zelf opzoeken. 2 echte risk and reward holes. Hole 4 is een korte par 4 met water voor de green. Hole 9 is ook een korte par 4 waar je de green niet kunt zien en vlak voor de green een echte grasbunker. (nodeloos te vertellen dat ik op hole 4 het water gehaald heb en op hole 9 inderdaad de grasbunker heb mogen bezoeken).
Ze gaan me hier zeker vaker zien, goede prijs/kwaliteit verhouding.

Hancock Park Golf CourseA nice, wooded course with a little river winding through lots of holes…Did not give me the feeling I was in Central Texas…Military discount…Looked crowded, but went out as a single and never ran into anyone….
