San Andres Golf Club
Über San Andres Golf Club
San Andres Golf Club is the oldest golf club in Argentina. In their first course (near to the actual one) was played the first official golf match in Argentina (in 1894). The club's history is the same as many clubs of those times, being the reference point for the British community that settled in the country. Later, it was the Argentine-born kin of these pioneers that kept the communities' traditions alive. Today, when a vast majority of the members are Argentine born, many of the traditions of the British antecessors are still observed. The 18 holes golf course designed by Scottish Pro Mr. Mungo Park in 1907, is similar to the Jockey Club in its characteristics. This par 72 for Men and 73 for Ladies, is a typical British parkland of old ancient trees, with greens of medium size with smooth –hard to read- slopes. However, its short yardage of 6472, is mainly protected by the rough.

San Andres Golf CourseCampo con tradición dentro de la Argentina, se respira golf por todos lados. Hay mucha camaradería. El course es estratégico, donde la ubicación de la bola es fundamental. Los green son pequeños, y difíciles de leer. Generalmente firmes. Se disfruta mucho.

San Andres Golf Courseun très beau parcours a 20 kms du centre de Buenos aires, desservi directement a sa porte par le train. Installations parfaites, dispose même d une piscine, un club de socios ouvert la semaine au greens fees extérieurs.
tracé du parcours plutôt classique, disposant de larges fairways boisés tout le long du terrain. Les greens roulent très bien, l entretien y est la aussi parfait. Ce club dispose d un Proshop très fourni, un restaurant et un club house a l anglaise. Ce club est un des plus vieux parcours d Amérique du Sud.

San Andres Golf CoursePlayed this course twice at the start of the year. It’s a great facility with Polo, Squash, Tennis and cricket. It’s one of the last bastions of the British in Argentina. It was well built back in the day and the current members are doing a great job keeping it going with the current financial difficulties in Argentina. This is the oldest golf course in Argentina and it has produced some great golfers and memories.
