Tucker’s Point Golf Club

Tucker’s Point Golf Club was originally designed by Charles H. Banks in 1932 however this 18-hole par 70 course has gone through numerous modifications over the years. In 2002 Robert Rulewich, the former chief designer for Robert Trent Jones, again revamped this course and replaced the greens with TifEagle Bermuda grass to make them faster but kept the challenging elevation changes that it was most famous for. The black tees are just a little under 6,500 yards but with a course rating of 72.1 and a slope of 134, I would highly recommend you swallow your pride and move up a set of tees since accuracy is much more important than distance on this course. The 13th and 17th are their signature holes. #13 offers a panoramic view of the entire north coast and west end of the island while #17 has sweeping views of Tucker’s Town and Castle Island. You will find that the greens are large, the course is well manicured and offers stunning views of the turquoise sea. This is a private course but allow visitors to reserve a tee time a minimum of 48 hours in advance.

Het mooiste clubhuis van Bermuda, Engels klassiek met een tikje Amerikaanse invloeden maar echt gezellig en bezoekers zijn net zo welkom als leden. Sportminded met meerdere grote TV-schermen, golf en football overigens niet hinderlijk aanwezig.

Drivingrange heeft voldoende afslagplaatsen, ballen liggen klaar.

Bebouwing rond de golfbaan op enkele holes, maar niet hinderlijk. Ook de openbare weg komt dicht bij sommige holes maar wat wil je op een eilandje. Ondanks de ruime opzet is de lay-out een paar keer gevaarlijk.

Mooi holes veel leuke doglegs met veel hoogteverschil. Greens zijn mooi groot en uitdagend.

Gespeeld met locals die af en toe nuttige tips konden geven over afstanden tot doglegs etc dat was wel handig.
