Korpa Golf Course - Golfklúbbur Reykjavíkur

Not far from Reykjavik you will find Korpa, a seaside and parkland course with a nice lay-out, especially the stretch of holes when you play close to the sea. Many holes use the hilly landscape, so you will find very few holes that are flat and where tee and green are on the same level. Good length on par4s and 5s, and a nice par3 with water in front of the green where you play towards the sea, so wind is clearly a factor. All-in-all a nice course.

Small pro-shop where you can find all necessities, but don’t expect to shop-around for a lot of branded fashionwear. Locker-rooms were under rennovation when were there, but they are small but functional. Very nice and cosy restaurant where you can re-energize and get warm again. Excellent lunch choices when we visited.

This golf course is part of the Reykjavik GC and is very busy. It The clubhouse has a small cafe that provides some home cooked food.

There are some indoor and outdoor covered practice facilities. All quite rudimentary, but ok for a warm up.

The course is ok, but not more than that. The opening holes are not very interesting and do not seem to be well maintained. Something that should be improved are the long walks from green to tee (for example 150m from the 1st to the 2nd), but Korpa does have some great holes.

At certain holes this course provides some views of the Atlantic ocean. The holes in general are a challenge. When we played here the course was in good shape, which is not necessarily the impression you will get when seeing the clubhouse or the first couple of holes...
