Oubaai Golf Club

The course is in a beautiful area and the layout of the holes is interesting and looks really nice. Especially the final stretch hole 16 to 18 is the highlight of the round at Oubaai.

Een keer of 6 gespeeld in januari en februari. en door de gevallen regen een toenemend betere baan kunnen spelen. Begon de baan te droog en de fairways te kaal en hobbelig. Na een paar buien groeide het gras op de fairway al snel en werd de baan steeds leuker om te spelen. De greens zijn gemiddeld van snelheid. De wind is alle keren dat wij speelden een belangrijke factor in ons spel geweest. De lay-out van deze door Ernie Els ontworpen baan: je speelt van het clubhuis "terug" naar het hotel waar het hakway huis is en gaat daarna richting oceaan. De weg over en de laatste 3 holes zijn duidelijk geïnspireerd door Pebble Beach: hole 17 een korte par 3 naar de oceaan en 18 en par 5 met dogleg naar links langs het clubhuis met uitzicht o de oceaan. De bunkers zijn ronduit slecht. Er is geen zand, vandaar de lagere score. Ik begreep dat de altijd aanwezige wind moeilijkheden maakt. Dat het zand uit de bunkers waaide en dat er een oplossing gezocht wordt. Ik hoop dat de oplossing gevonden wordt als we terug zijn :)

Hier gespeeld erg mooie baan. Hotel is prima.van het clubhuis rijd er een shuttle bus die is gratis en brengt je ook weer terug.het eten in het clubhuis is top en goedkoop. Zeker spelen en geniet van het uitzicht en het wild.

Beauty, very nice views, maintenance is good but not great; fairways already dry a d bunkers are concrete and not sandy at all.

We were very surprised that it was not really busy. The course close to the Indian Ocean and if playing as much as possible in the morning, because you feel less wind when playing the course The reception is helpful and by taking to the staff they informed players about what happened in the past. We understood and the course was in good condition with fairways and greens nice to play. Also the bunkers, (of course donot be there) are difficult but well playable. You see many deer and other animals they are eating the whole day and are not a problem but nice to see. The last 2 holes a par 23 and par 5 are very nice and can be disturb your shot because of beautiful views. Overall fine and the restaurant very nice and good lunch with views on the course. recommended when in the area and find Fancourt busy and expensive.
