Golf Club St. Leon-Rot

Played the course Rot for the first time in a long time, actually a shame - as it is not so far away and very easy to access. Either through lovely drive enjoying beautiful landscape of Badische Rheinebene or quick access with Motorway A5&A6. Reception at the club as guest is outstanding, - just how you want it with well sortet pro-shop … and probably best infrastructure for a golf club in Germany. Enjoyed some training on the grounds before the round. Course was in great shape, even with drought situation - design is wide open, classic … needless to write too much. Lenght and precision off the tee will be rewarded, however Rot is offering enough space to relaxed play. Outstanding to me are no. 9 and 18, playing all along the water with nicely placed bunkers. However what comes first to my mind, as always is no. 7 - playing 361m from the yellows, leading to a nice island green. Overall the course allows fine home advantage, as visual perception makes the course much tougher to play than it is actually by the meters and the shots: Very fair, just stick to the fairways. ;-) Club house is outstanding as the service is, well maintained - and recently rennovated restaurant elevates to club. Worth to travel or a great option to organize a trip, with other great courses in the area.

Back again this year – this time in the middle of summer. While many golf courses are struggling with dry conditions and brown fairways, St. Leon-Rot was still in outstanding shape. The fairways were green, the overall conditioning was excellent, and the course presentation was exactly what you would expect from one of Germany's premier golf destinations. I played both the St. Leon Course and the Rot Course, and choosing a favourite isn't easy because they are completely different experiences. The St. Leon Course has a wonderful inland links character with firm playing surfaces and strategic bunkering, while the Rot Course is a classic parkland layout with tree-lined fairways and a different style of challenge. One thing that really stands out is the contrast in the bunkers. If you play St. Leon first, the bunkers on the Rot Course almost feel flat in comparison! Both courses were presented in excellent condition, but if I had to choose, I would give a slight edge to the St. Leon Course. Make sure you allow enough time before your round to enjoy the practice facilities. They are among the best in Germany and truly impressive, although you'll need to take a short walk to reach the full practice area. Another highlight was the incredible number of storks around the property. Seeing them throughout the round adds something really special to the atmosphere. After our round we stopped at the Halfway House for a meal, as the main restaurant is closed on Mondays and Tuesdays. It was the perfect way to finish the day. If you're planning a golf trip in Germany, make sure St. Leon-Rot is on your list. Two outstanding but completely different championship courses, exceptional practice facilities, excellent course conditions and a beautiful setting make this a destination that's always worth returning to.

Der Golf Club St. Leon-Rot gehört ohne Zweifel zu den renommiertesten und schönsten Golfanlagen in Deutschland. Bereits bei der Anfahrt merkt man, dass hier alles auf höchstem Niveau gepflegt wird. Die gesamte Anlage ist weitläufig, sehr modern und wirkt in allen Bereichen äußerst professionell organisiert. Besonders beeindruckend ist die Qualität der beiden Championship-Plätze – St. Leon und Rot. Beide unterscheiden sich im Layout, bieten aber gleichermaßen abwechslungsreiche Spielbahnen, perfekte Fairways und schnelle, treue Grüns. Der Pflegezustand ist außergewöhnlich gut, man spürt sofort, dass der Club einen internationalen Standard verfolgt. Auch abseits der Plätze überzeugt die Anlage auf ganzer Linie: zwischen Clubhaus, Driving Range und Start, eine große und bestens (einmalig in Deutschland) ausgestattete Übungsanlage sowie das stilvolle Clubrestaurant, das nicht nur Golfer, sondern auch externe Gäste kulinarisch auf höchstem Niveau verwöhnt. Besonders hervorzuheben ist zudem die Atmosphäre im Club: trotz des exklusiven Anspruchs fühlt man sich als Gast willkommen und professionell betreut. Drei Fakten zum GC St. Leon-Rot: 1. Der Club verfügt über zwei 18-Loch-Championship-Plätze und einen 9-Loch-Kurzplatz – ideale Bedingungen für Freizeitgolfer und Profis gleichermaßen. 2. Der Solheim Cup 2015 fand hier statt und die Deutsche Bank SAP Open sogar mit Tiger Woods, womit der Club internationale Golfgeschichte geschrieben hat. 3. Der GC St. Leon-Rot gilt als Talentschmiede in Deutschland und beheimatet die bekannte Golf Academy, die zahlreiche Nachwuchsspieler fördert. Fazit: Eine absolute Top-Adresse im deutschen und europäischen Golfsport, die man unbedingt gespielt haben sollte.

Eine Anlage mit toller Infrastruktur!Bahnen laden zu taktischem Spiel ein. Greens waren auf der Runde durchschnittlich. Restaurant war geschlossen.Leider kein Hinweis beim Check in . Haben verzichtet, da der Weg zum Hafwayhouse uns zu mühsam war. Der Fairness halber muss man sagen,das der Weg nicht so weit ist. Wir kommen gerne wieder

Last week, we were invited to play sankt Leon Rot. There are at least 2x18 holes courses, we played course Rot. This golf Anlage (golf championship courses & training facilities actually) is amazing!! Nothing like we have in the Netherlands. What a great course, I loved it and I would love to play more and other courses when I am around. The guest parking was good, with 2 e-chargers which we used. The caddiemaster was very helpful and friendly; the pro-shop was big with a great assortiment. We played the course with a cart, but next time we will walk the course. It is a long course but not hilly. The practice area was Hugh! 400 meter driving range (also from the grass) many putting and chipping facilities and even a bunker training faciliteit. Amazing and fantastic! The course was well maintained, the greens were quite fast. Holes were long. Some long par3 and long par4 require a steady tee shot and a good 2nd to reach the green for ladies. For higher handicaps (ladies) a par would be quite hard to make) The birdie book was full of information for the course management. The change rooms were clean, had showers and bathtowels, that was good. The terrace of the halfway house I was fantastic and the staff friendly. It is a great experience to visit this course. Whenever I am around again, I would love to practice and play more courses.
