Gowran Park Golf & Race Course

Very nice course and it is designed very well. The fairways were very wet and patchy and the greens were fairly fast but a bit unpredictable. Some of the holes were very fun to play and the stand from the racecourse makes it feel more like a championship course.

This is a little gem about 15 minutes from the slightly higher profile Mount Juliet. Because it's situated around a race track, the layout is a bit quirky, but the holes themselves are all well designed and the course alternates between reasonable open parkland and narrow fairways set in mature conifer woodland. The fairways and greens are beautifully maintained, and the greens themselves are true and consistent from one to the other. I turned up on my own to play in an Open Competition and Shay in the pro shop very helpfully paired me with another solo player so I got to get a card marked. This course is good value and well worth a round if you're in the area.

Great course with great facilities. Greens are excellent and some tight holes. Nice test of golf.
