Tewkesbury Park

Designed by Frank Pennick and opened for play in 1976, the Deerpark at Tewkesbury Park is the main 18-hole course of the 27 holes onsite. Located on the hill on which in 1471 the battle of Tewkesbury was fought, you are afforded excellent views of the surrounding countryside, the town of Tewksbury, its Abbey and then in the distance, the Cotswolds. As you enter the property and up its lengthy driveway to your right, you have your first glimpses of the course. The hotel is the epicentre of activity and sits on the highest point and the centre of the Deepark course. 
The course is a fun track, and the better golfer can overpower most of its well-manicured holes. The trees that line the fairways and occasionally occupy parts are huge. Apart from the par 3 5th hole, there are no water hazards to speak of, and your main threats are the trees and the odd well-placed bunker. Overall a nicely presented course and good value.

This is a very pleasant parkland golf course but with excellent greens. In fact the greens are some of the best I've played on. They were running at 9.5 on the stimp and this is in February! The shop staff were really friendly as were the members we spoke with. Definitely recommend a visit and I shall return.

Golf course in good condition. Management insisted we pay for 2 players who couldn't play, in spite of giving notice. They stuck rigidly to the T&Cs.
