Caversham Heath Golf Club

A good course but not a great one. I played a lot, but not for a few years. It is long and perhaps slightly "one note" in that the emphasis was always on length rather than strategy. Almost to compensate the greens ran slower than you'd expect. It was a good challenge but not perhaps very welcoming; not at all subtle. That said I have heard rumors of a redesign following a local merger and the new architect is said to be trying to make it a bit more fun and accessible and a bit less of a slog! So am looking forward to going back. Certainly off the course the staff and clubhouse were excellent and exactly what you would want after a tough 18 holes!
