Golf Livada Moravske Toplice

In Verbindung unseres Wellnessaufenthaltes in Moravske Toplitze spielten wir den Platz 2x. Es ist ein etwas naturbelassener Platz, die Pflege mittelmäßig, aber interessant zu spielen.

Das erste Mal zu Besuch am Golfcourse Livada in Moravske Toplice. Nach einigen Irrwegen und Nachfragen fanden wir die „geheimnisvolle“ Stiege in den Untergrund des Hotels Livada. Endlich die Golfrezeption gefunden…. Der Platz präsentiert sich in sehr gutem Zustand, Fairways und Greens sind perfekt gepflegt. Parklandschaft, ruhige Atmosphäre, guter Spielfluss!

I visited Moravske toplice on a vacation for what was a mix of golf getaway and climbing the stairs for the slides of the pool with my kids.

I played the course three times in a four day period and I had some bad luck with a weather.

I played solidly all three days - I guess the reason behind was my knowledge of the course layout.

I played this course a few times before and I already formed my opionion on it. The last stint on the course didn't change my perception on the course much.

Although it is well maintained the greens are not quite to my liking. Greens are soft even on a hot day with grass being well rolled which makes the ball fast.

There is one hole (hole 6) where it's difficult to land a ball on a green even with a good drive. Other par 4's are like driver-wedge (or a short iron). Number 14 is a blind shot over the hill - you have to be precise and know your club distances well to know exactly where to hit the shortcut. For some reason I never got a good result on number 15 which is a medium par 3 (water hazard on the right, bunkers around the green and well undulated green).

The fairways are generally quite wide. Some greens are quite undulated. Nevetheless, I'd say it's one of the easier 18 hole courses in Slovenia.

Moravske Toplice is a local turist destination. I guess the golf course was build to offer a complete vacation package to the tourists.

The fact that the Terme 3000 also has a golf course is a big reason for me and my family to return to the destination. Kids love the water park and the playgrounds and I love to "dissappear" for a few hours and card myself a nice round of golf. I played the course on different time periods and I didn't notice any special flaws regarding it's maintanance.

The course design isn't "much". In fact it's famous for very flat surface (as Pomurje area generally is).

As I already mentioned I find the layout of the course insignificant. Some of the par 4's are repetitive. I liked the par 3s and especially par 5. The standout hole is number 9 par 5. But not as much for it's design but for its lenght.

The course doesn't force you to think strategically - this is it's main flaw.

Nevertheless, I'm going to visit the destination again this july and I can't wait to play it again.
