Amber Baltic Golf Club

The Baltic region is gradually becoming an increasingly popular holiday destination, and this is certainly evident in Poland. Golf courses are also being built or are already in operation here – there are four on the German-Polish border (West Pomerania), and during our holiday we chose Amber. It is a course relatively close to the sea, but without a view of it – it is separated by dense pine forests. The course is situated in a undulating natural environment, it is landscaped nicely, with plenty of trees and water on the first nine holes and nice views, especially on the second nine. The first part is more challenging (I would say quite difficult), while the second is more monotonous, with a links-style character. The quality of the surfaces was average to above average, with the hilly part showing signs of drought (or a lack of irrigation capacity?). But overall, it was fine. The resort includes relatively extensive training areas and a clubhouse with a restaurant, which we did not try. Overall, I can recommend playing on this course; it's a pretty nice place. I just have one comment about the rental clubs – I've probably never played with worse “second-hand” clubs... So be careful about that.

Om du är ute efter en golfresa med polarna där både banan och stämningen håller bra nivå utan att plånboken skriker, då är Amber Baltic Golf ett riktigt bra val. Banan har kul layout, lagom utmanande och i bra skick. Du får både öppna fairways och lite klurigare partier, vilket gör den varierad och rolig. Läget vid kusten ger också en skön inramning – lite havsbris och vackra vyer är aldrig fel. Restaurangen är helt ok. Efter 18 hål smakar en schysst lunch ännu bättre, och här funkar det. Oavsett om det är lunch eller bara en öl och en bit mat på terrassen, så håller det bra klass. Med tanke på kvaliteten på banan och helhetsupplevelsen är det helt klart värt pengarna. Det här är ett perfekt resmål om du och dina golfkompisar vill ha en rolig, avslappnad och prisvärd golfresa. Kan helt klart rekommenderas!

Driving range off grass possible, but not the best driving range grass.

Course has a lot of water on the first 11 holes if you watch the score card, however it is better doable then it looks on the card. Fairways are quite generous.

Course maintenance is not all the best, especially the bunker don't look very good.

This course is in the top 10 in Poland and top100golfcourses, but that seems rather generous.

We had a meal in the clubhouse which was completely empty apart from us.

Zwaar bewolkt, laatste 9 even een buitje en daarna kwam de zon

De wind nam steeds meer af tot een licht briesje

Geen oranje tees, spijtige zaak anders konden meer mensen deze baan spelen

Niet altijd eenvoudig om uw eerste slag te slaan wegens aanwezige “hindernissen”

Afstand tee fairway afwisselend ver dan soms dicht

Veel water dat soms in d weg kan liggen dus als je afstand variabel is neem dan veel ballen mee want terugvinden vergeet dat maar

Foto is erbij gezet, we hebben een witte tee gevonden welke enige tijd niet is afgemaaid (vergeten of een extra moeilijkheid voor de speler…)

Ofwel wordt er van wit zeer weinig gespeeld

Terrein:

Zeer uitdagende en open baan en vooral brede fairways

Niet altijd een strakke scheidingslijn tussen fairway en de lage rough

Bunkers (afwerking kan beter) zijn speelbaar en liggen praktisch steeds rond de green

Voor de eerste maal heb ik nu enkel borden gefotografeerd en daarbij behorende tee om een zicht te krijgen wat je ziet

Green:

Groot, mooi afgereden, maar aan de trage kant en de scheidingslijn met apron is niet overal duidelijk (zelfs heel vaag)

Buggy:

Aanwezig zonder GPS

Afstand tussen de holes is soms even stappen en de wegen er naar toe zijn ook niet gemakkelijk

Aanbevolen voor personen welke minder mobiel zijn.

Amber is greener this year that any of the previous years and I have been coming here back and again for the last 10 years or so. Most of July and early August saw rain here for almost every single day. Despite these conditions course is well maintained with the only exception of hole 6 and hole 7 ie two holes in the lowest point of the course with somewhat muddy conditions. Fairways are running softer than usually. Greens were fairly firm and fast. Rough is well cut within controlable miss areas.

Mosquitos are numerous and superb agressive to the point where the club cancelled tournament last weekend. Better bring your golf pants, long sleeves and plenty of repelent.
