Golf in Ierland
In 2006 werd de Ierse toewijding voor golf beloond met de organisatie van de Ryder Cup op de Palmer Course van de K Club. En de Ryder Cup keert in 2027 terug naar Ierland en wel op Adare Manor.
Bekende Ierse golfbanen - zonder andere tekort te doen - zijn Old Head Golf Links, The European Club, Lahinch Golf Club, The Island Golf Club, Killeen Castle, Adare Manor, Ballyliffin Golf Club, Druids Glen en Fota Island.
Ierland telt meer dan 300 golfclubs. Het land bezit een derde van alle natuurlijke links golfbanen ter wereld en een groot aantal uitzonderlijke championship courses op spectaculaire locaties. Het is dan ook niet vreemd dat Ierland altijd een populaire golfbestemming zal blijven. Ierse golfbanen trekken wereldwijd duizenden golfers uit de hele wereld. Wellicht een mooi moment om u daarbij aan te sluiten?

Howth is a hidden gem on the verge of being discovered. Located on a peninsula about a half hours drive of Dublin airport it's a real find. Tralee Golf Club
Tralee Golf Club was designed by Arnold Palmer. Palmer once famously said that he designed the front 9 of Tralee and the back 9 were designed by god.

When you park your car at Lahinch Golf Club and walk towards the clubhouse, you are greated by a goat statue. The Island Golf Club
The drive to the Island (about half an hour north of Dublin) is very nice. Especially the last part where the water is just right of the road and you see the clubhouse in the distance. The clubhouse itself is not very interesting but the golf course, designed in 1890, is extremely nice. We played it on an exceptional hot day in June and enjoyed ourselves tremendously.
