Over The Springs Resort & Golf Club
Near Wallingford, Oxfordshire, The Springs Resort and Golf Club is laid over 133 acres of beautiful parkland that runs alongside the river Thames. The par 72 golf course was originally designed by former Ryder Cup captain Brian Huggett, and first opened in 1998. The course was purchased by Darwin Escapes in 2017 and the following year began a significant investment plan, starting with the golf course. Leading course architect Tim Lobb was called in to work in consultation with Huggett - primarily on the bunkers and lakes, improving their placement and aesthetic appeal. We are thrilled to be a GEO Certified course, a highly regarded sustainability distinction awarded to only 2% of golf courses in the UK.

The Springs Hotel & Golf ClubAlthough not a long course, it is challenging. The clubhouse and restaurant are excellent after a major refit.

The Springs Hotel & Golf ClubGolfbaan bij hotel. Vlakke park/bos baan langs de Thames, die er deze oktoberdag prachtig bij lag. Onderhoud prima. Water en bunkers met goed zand. Greens zijn goed. De baan is niet makkelijk, maar ook niet verschrikkelijk ingewikkeld - dus een fijne golfdag is gegarandeerd. Zeker voor 25 pond. Routing is uitstekend al mist er wel weer een plaatje van de hole bij de Tee-Box. Maar relaxed is het wel, getuige de uitnodiging om een selfie te maken en je actieshot te uploaden. Het caddieboekje is summier en duur. Drivingrange is eventjes lopen, maar je krijgt een enorme hoop ballen mee. Ik vond de sausage-roll na afloop ook geweldig trouwens!
