Not as well known as it's "Sandbelt" neighbours but a wonderful course non the less. Far more elevation change than your R. Melb or K. Heath's with relatively generous fairways considering is fairly tree lined.

Bunkering is a treat here at Riversdale though I believe they are in the midst of bunker work.

I started early on the first and the fire pit warms you up at the first tee!

The first hole is Par 3 which is unusual, but at 200m it's a tough start even after the fire warms you up

At the time I played one of the downhill Par 4's was having the whole hole updated.

So interesting holes like the long downhill par 5 with water before the green meaning most of us mere mortals have to lay up. Dogleg holes are prominent here at Riversdale, especially the 9th!

I enjoyed the back to back par 4's on holes 4 and 5, as well as the run home of the par 3 uphill 17 and downhill then uphill 18. Great clubhouse with fantastic views of the course. Lovely staff as well helped with making the day start right!

Riversdale is a beautiful course and should get more recognition in Melbourne. The layout is nice with tree lined fairways and good greens. It isn’t your typical “sand belt” course but I rank this course highly in Melbourne.

The clubhouse is stunning with great views overlooking the facilities and 18th green.

I highly recommend to visit and play Riversdale. It’s about 20 minutes from Melbourne CBD so it’s close to everything.
