Knysna Golf Club

Played the Knysna golfclub and the weather was nice. The course maintenance was not as expected but still playable. The staff was fine and all necessary questions were answered. Also during the round we could play fine and hardly any waiting which is always nice to continu play. The drinks after the round is fine with views on the course which is always nice to see players playing the last hole.

De Knysna Golf Club is een fraai ogende 18 holes golfbaan van het karakter open parkbaan, ondanks dat er veel grote, hoge en oude bomen aanwezig zijn. De baan is vrij vlak met licht verhoogde greens, diverse bunkers en waterpartijen. Tijdens ons verblijf bleek voornamelijk op de fairways dat er langdurige droogte is geweest en waterschaarste. Ook de aanwezige waterpartijen hadden hieronder te lijden. De greens bleken prima. Helaas zoals op meerdere Zuid-Afrikaanse golfbanen, ook hier weinig tot geen hole-informatie anders dan de lengte.

Parcours sec malgré des greens excellents. Accueil excellent comme partout dans cette région. Beaucoup de trous se ressemblent mais très agréable à jouer.

Again a round on the Knysna golfclub . They working hard to improve the course and indeed the course get better but it takes time. The 1st 9 the water hazards get better but in some water hazards your ball could not be found., so be aware. The greens are nice but they are not flat some holes difficult to make par. The 2nd 9 is wider and more open but overall it is good to walk the course. The only disadvantage is the many birds walking on the fairway and produce the shi??? which is not fine for your shoes and golf clubs , cleaning is a must. The restaurant and staff are fine and helpfull.

Ervaring dit keer was een stuk minder dan eerdere keren dat ik hier speelde. Na aanmelding kregen we het dringende verzoek om met 4 personen snel te starten op hole 10. Direct achter ons startte een flight van 3. Je voelt je dus enorm opgejaagd wat het golfspel niet ten goede komt. Door de regen en wind in de afgelopen nacht liggen op alle fairways veel takken, uitwerpselen, blaadjes etc. Nergens een greenkeeper gezien die bezig was met opruimen. Daarnaast is de lay-out vele malen onbegrijpelijk en ga je de verkeerde kant op naar de volgende hole. Greens, buiten de rotzooi, zijn best wel goed. Algehele indruk was toch wat sober. De starter was zelf ook niet tevreden toen we na 9 holes een half uur moesten wachten om af te kunnen slaan op hole 1. Er zal altijd wel zo een dag tussen zitten wanneer je veel baan speelt.
