The Crete Golf Club

have played at The Crete Golf a number of times, and it’s always a great experience. Even though I know the course well, the views never fail to amaze me. The course isn’t particularly long, but the layout more than makes up for that. The staff are very friendly, and we were offered the opportunity to have lunch on the terrace after the turn. It was a lovely break after nine holes. Looking forward to coming back next year!

Op Kreta, dus ook een dagje golfen! Met golfamore betalen we maar de helft voor deze golfbaan, dus dat scheelt al mooi. Vriendelijke ontvangst, meneer bij de buggy uitgifte denkt goed met me mee en samen komen we uit op een mannen huurset van taylormade met graphite shafts. Mooi dat je zo de keuze hebt in bijna nieuwe clubs! De baan is afwisselend, met prachtige uitzichten op de bergen van Kreta. Geen water, maar toch genoeg ballen kwijt geraakt door blind shots. Onderhoud erg netjes, alles lag er goed bij. Niet druk, want ik kon alleen spelen en mijn vrouw mocht mee in de buggy.

Voor een beginner zoals ik is deze baan iets te uitdagend ( waarschijnlijk omdat ik nog geen ervaring heb met de vlag niet te zien bij afslag). Het zou me geholpen hebben dat ik een plan zou hebben van elke hole. Ligging is mooi, de baan is in goede staat.

Golf course is situated in the hills of Heraklion. Therefor, it is relative cool to play. The surrounding is quite nice though there is a factory and a fun waterpark nearby. Hospitality is good. We got our flight reservation three months in advance. Price for two persons including green fee, buggy and equipment was 320 Euro. Quite significant. We were well in advance. We enjoyed the Restaurant with view on hole 18 and the hills. The wraps and fresh orange juice were good. We got Taylormade club sets, graphite female and steel male shafts. They played good. We had a start time of 14h. It was quiet so we really enjoyed. It was a pity that there was no course plan on the scoring card. We missed hole 10 after visiting the bath room after hole 9. Fairways and greens were excellent.
