About Alicante Golf
Situated at Playa de San Juan, very near to Alicante, this modern, balanced course and was designed by Severiano Ballesteros. The course has a par of 72, with six par-3s, six par-4s and six par-5s. The main feature of the course is the vast abundance of water, which makes for quite a tricky round. The course is flat, not particularly strenuous and you can see the green on all of the holes. It has two unusual features: the first is the lake in the shape of an S (the initial of the designer) surrounding the green on the 9th; the second is the Roman ruins next to the 14th which the player has to clear to reach the green. Near to Alicante, in the Valencian Community, and with a wide range of accommodation on offer.

Alicante golfcourseMooie baan door de stad fairways goed maar niet snel. Weinig rol. Greens heel goed maar niet snel. Baan zeer goed verzorgd Al met al een aanrader. Volgend jaar gaan we daar weer spelen

Alicante golfcourseVandaag op een prachtige zonnige dag gespeeld. Als je er aankomt heb je absoluut geen idee dat er een golfbaan ligt. Parkeerterrein is relatief klein. Een mooie, lange baan met immens brede fairways. De ontvangst was zeer klantvriendelijk. De oefengreens en twee greens om te chippen waren goed. De drivingrange is breed, er mag vanaf gras (nou ja gras…) geslagen worden. De holes worden omgeven door bebouwing. Diverse keren via tunnels en door het oversteken van de openbare weg naar de volgende hole moeten gaan. De afstanden tussen green en volgende tee zijn bij tijd en wijle behoorlijk groot. De fairway van de eerste hole ligt vol oefenballen van de drivingrange. Maar het is zeker een fijne baan om te spelen. Het onderhoud is wel ondermaats, sommige tees zijn slecht en niet egaal. De bunkers waren een ramp. Je kon nog zien dat ze een tijd geleden onder water hadden gestaan, ze waren keihard. Jammer. De greens zijn fantastisch, helaas wel traag. De 18e hole om te eindigen is schitterend. Een fijne dag dus…

Alicante golfcourseEenmaal aangekomen bij de club is het zoeken naar een parkeerplek. Vanaf de parkeerplaats liep ik met de trolley het clubhuis in. Dit is dus niet de bedoeling want er is geen lift om naar beneden te komen. Men moet rechts langs het clubhuis naar beneden lopen. Vriendelijke ontvangst bij de caddiemaster in een ruime goed gevulde shop. Prachtige golfbaan. De holes zijn gelegen tussen de bebouwing, je speelt 1 of meerdere holes en moet dan een stuk lopen naat de volgende groep holes. Betaalbare greenfees. 2 min punten; 1) helaas was het clubhuis gesloten om gezellig te kunnen nagenieten van een ronde golf. 2) de drivingrange ballen zijn broodnodig aan vervanging toe

Alicante golfcourseNice course in the middle of Alicante, well maintained greens and fairways - fairly easy for high handicappers to enjoy and feel challenged. Good mix of Par 5 and Par 3. Back 9 buggy route paths need some TLC as tree roots have moved the concrete. Buggies don’t have any GPS although good value for money
