The ‘old course is by far the best. It poses a challenge for both beginners and experienced golfers because of its technical requirements. An adorable course in a preservated landscape.

Prachtige golfbaan waar je het niet verwacht. Vanuit een woonwijk rij je deze golfbaan binnen waar je jezelf in een waar natuurpark waant.

Wij liepen de 9 holes Farum. Werkelijk alles klopt aan deze baan.

Houd je ballen op de fairway. De rough is hoog en zorgt ervoor dat je de ballen ook echt kwijt bent.

De slotholes van Farum is samen met het watertje echt prachtig gelegen.

Als we de tijd hebben komen we hier zeker weer een keer spelen.

Has been my home club for many years and when returning from playing other course at home or abroad I'm always pleased that this is where I play the most :-) There are always things you want to improve on, but all in all its a beautiful course, especially the Hestkøb/Farum combination.

It is a difficult course, especially in the summer when the rough is high. Greens are generally fast and with lots of breaks and undulations. If you are a long hitter it can be difficult to find place for your driver (which can be frustrating when it is your home club), but for people visiting it should not be an issue, or just play from the back tee ;-)

The restaurant has a nice selection and is a nice place to cool down after a round of golf, only issue is that it does not offer a view of any holes, but that is how the layout is :-).

I was a member at Furesø from 2017 and 2019 and really enjoyed it. The course has three nine hole loops:

Farum

Hestkøbgaard

Parkvej

The two first are the original layout, which is currently ranked 27th in the Danish Top 50 on Top100Golfcourses, and I would say that’s a pretty fair ranking.

Overall the course isn’t very long, but fairways are tight, and greens are small and undulating. Accuracy and ball striking a definitely more important than length, and with the exception of a couple of holes on the Farum loop, you can easily get around without ever having to hit a driver.

My personal favorite was the Farum loop which was the slightly longer loop. My favorite holes were the par 5 2nd which requires good course management, and the slightly downhill par 4 4th.

Hestkøbgaard is probably the best and most beautiful loop, but in my opinion it’s also the most difficult. My favorite hole on that loop was the stunning par 4 4th which requires accuracy off the tee in order to thread the needle between the trees towards a difficult green.

Parkvej is the newest loop and easily the “worst”. There’s nothing wrong with it, but it’s just a notch below the other two. Most visitors prefer the par 4 2nd, but I always loved the par 4 7th.

All in all a decent course and definitely worth a visit. Clubhouse and restaurant are very good, so always make sure to plan for lunch.

Highly recommend a visit to Furesø.
