Hacienda Riquelme Golf

Really enjoyed the course, although the clubhouse facilities could have been better laid out. Still very enjoyable round.

Fun but surpsingly challenging course, lots of bunkers, bushes and water. Bring extra balls!

Friendly staff starts the day well. Decent driving range to warm up. Buggies - expensive at €48 each! The course was in good condition. Much wider fairways than I expected and a good, challenging variety of holes. Very fast greens! Lots of bunkers and good use of the water hazards - e.g. higher handicappers have options to play down the side of a lake, whilst giving better players the opportunity to attack the green over the water. Unfortunately, we were held up by two groups in front (two groups of 4, each with trolleys, whereas we were 3 with buggies) who were taking a long tome at each hole. There was no sign of a marshal at any time to speed them up or encourage them to let us play through. The bar close to the pro shop was closed when we finished, although we were directed by some other golfers to a nearby bar / restaurant which was open.

Een zeer uitdagende baan, waarbij beslist niet is bezuinigd op bunkers. De greens zijn snel en sommige greens hebben rondom bunkers. Iets te enthousiast putten is af te raden, kans dat de bal de bunker inrolt. De meeste bunkers hebben hoge schouders, een crime soms om de bal uit de bunker te slaan. De baan heb ik nu een keer of 5 gelopen en lopen is best zwaar gezien de heuvelachtige ligging. Een golfcart is een optie, echter behoorlijk aan de prijs.
