Kristianstads GK was founded in 1924 as a 9-hole course. In 1938, the club and its 38 members moved to Åhus and the foundation was laid for today's 9-hole East Course. In 1969 the course was expanded to 18 holes and had 343 members. The first rebuilding of the East Course took place in 1992. The second rebuilding was done in 2016 with the help of course architects Pierre Fulke (former Swedish Ryder Cup player) and Adam Mednickson. In 2017, the renovated East Course was opened.
In 1980, the "Skogsbanan" created 9 new holes as a precursor to the West Course. In September 2004, the expansion of the West Course began and 18 new holes were opened on 1 July 2006. In the autumn of 2020, renovation of the West Course began with the help of golf course architects Pierre Fulke and Adam Mednickson. The new West Course will be officially opened in 2021.
