Al Ain Equestrian, Golf and Shooting Club is surely one of a kind. It is spread over a huge land. The number of different sports practiced there is not limited to those three in club name. They also have horse racing track and cricket & rugby facilities; maybe even more that I have not seen. The variety reminded me of Marsa Club in Malta, however Marsa has squeezed itself on a limited land and golf course is short. Al Ain is big… I reached the club after 95 mins driving from my airport hotel in Dubai. From other parts of Dubai, it would take almost 2 hours. I had made my reservation via e-mail before hand and everything at the club went smooth with payment at golf reception and buggy allocation by caddy master. Visiting a golf club at a small Arab city in the middle of a desert, I did NOT have high expectations. However, Al Ain Golf course surprised me completely by far exceeding my expectations. The course condition is truly outstanding. The greens are like carpet and very fast. I don’t remember seeing any scratches or pitchmarks on them. The fairway is also in great shape. Any divots on the tee boxes were already closed with seeded sand. I have played 140 courses around the world so far and Al-Ain easily ranks top 5 in condition. The course layout is also nice. There are some large lakes between the holes which add challenge. Meanwhile a group of holes are inside the horse racing track and connected to other holes by underground passage. One unique experience was when I heard gun shots from Shooting Club while I was preparing to drive in some back-9 holes. At the clubhouse, people are helpful. The pro shop has ample variety. I was pleased to find out they have balls with club logo and happily added to my collection. However the building is a bit old and looks like a Middle East state building. Overall, it was a great experience which highly exceeded my expectations. Strongly recommended to any golfer.

This golfcourse is again a very nice course in the Emirates country. It is away from Dubai and Abu Dhabi and you have a nice road through the dessert to arrive in Al Ain. It is nice to see the difference between the cities and there is less traffic overall. In Al Ain horse racing is more important than golf. However in the 1990 period also in Abu Dhabi the sandy golfcourse was within the horse race track. Now again 9 holes within and the 2nd 9 outsite
The course in perfect condition par 5, s reachable in 2 and par 3;s with water around and also in the dessert you can loose balls. Greens are in good conditions and no excuse for a 3 putt. The clubhouse is very nice since you can enjoy horse racing from the terrace.
Staff give very nice service and it is well organized.
A nice experience and if you have the time try it out.

Baan ligt er super bij. Inland links ontwerp.
