Heerlijke baan om te spelen maar wat het rondje min of meer om zeep hielp was het spel tempo…..Vier ballen zouden verboden moeten worden. Wat een drama. Zo jammer want de baan is erg gaaf. De kwaliteit van de fairways mag wel beter maar de greens liepen heerlijk. Het clubhuis is “under construction” dus vandaar de matige waardering. De mensen die er werken zijn fantastisch. Daar ligt het niet aan. Jammer ook dat er vrijwel geen oefen faciliteiten zijn. Al met al zeker de moeite waard.

Ein richtig guter Links-Golfplatz in einwandfreiem Pflegezustand. Der Platz ist ruhig gelegen, gleich hinter dem Strand. Wind ist natürlich auf so einem Platz ein ständiger Begleiter. Es gibt zahlreiche Topfbunker mit feinem dunklen Sand. Im Grunde war der Platz leicht zu spielen, ist aber dennoch keiner, auf dem man mal soeben sein Handicap bestätigt. Der Platz war stark frequentiert an diesem Freitag, was wahrscheinlich auch an der Nähe zu Auckland liegt. Online konnten wir sehen, wann noch freie Abschlagszeiten zur Verfügung waren und sind dann einfach hingefahren. War kein Problem. Mit 100 NZ Dollar ist der Platz sicherlich im oberen Preissegment, aber das ist er auch wert.

Muriwa GC is a beautiful links course on the west coast with the wind from the Tasman Sea not to make it easy. The course is not far from Auckland but in a quiet area.

This links 18 holes par 72 course with a length of around 6000m depending on the tee-box you choose, is already over 60 years old. There many practice facilities if you have no experience with linksgolf. Also heer a number of doglegs, no water but pot bunkers difficult to come out so lay-up to avoid losing shots. Because the undulated fairways you have to be carefull of the bounces and avoid your ball ending up in the rough. The clubhouse is built on the highest point, so enjoy your beverages after your game with views on the 18th hole and and of the Muriwai Beach Coastline.

Really value for money and golfers will love this course.
