Played here in December, bit of a trek but well worth the drive from Sydney. Resort seems to cater to Asian corporate types and there was no vibe around the clubhouse before or after our round. Good game management is required and there are some challenging par 3's. Would go back.

Riverside Oaks G. R, Gangurru. 1 hour north west of Sydney CBD. NSW
Gangurru is main course you see upon driving into the resort.
The course in fairly tree lined but isn't too tight off the tee.
Plenty of water and sand, plus good natural elevation change on this course with one of the better Par 3's going at the 162m downhill 11th with water surrounding.
The 18th is tricky risk / reward Par 5 finishing hole downhill with water running along the right hand side to the green.
I preferred the Bungool course better myself, but with a bit of cash and TLC this place could really turn into one of the best 36 hole resorts in Australia.

Riverside Oaks G.R. 1 hour North West of Sydney CBD. NSW
Riverside Oaks has two lovely Championship courses to play whilst you stay at the resort, if you so choose, and look who wouldn't stay in Spring or Autumn. Summer is fine but can get red hot out this way.
Both courses are top 100 type courses.
Bungool course is set out the back of the resort along the famed Hawkesbury River, overlooking the amazing cliffs along the banks edge, even with jetski's and speedboats cruising bye.
Bungool course is set in the more open an expansive part of the property, giving way to generous fairways, which are well manicured. Good bunkering can be seen here with good variation used in terms of depth and location on each hole, some elevation occurs on this course but nothing to be too concerned about.

i played on 9.5.07 at 10am with a deal bought off e bay, the whole course etc was fantastic but we had just driven from the central coast and the professional in the shop was like he didn't want to be there and serving us was an inconvenience, he couldn't say good morning or anything just ...handed cards, and said keys in carts hit off white markers. wouldn't be too hard to say enjoy your day at riverside oaks or something similar. Not as if the pro shop was busy..............
