Golf Club Davos

We played in August and the course was in very good condition. The lady at the reception was very welcoming. We played at the end of the day and it's wasn't too busy. There are some holes which cross over, but the signs are clear. We were impressed by the beautiful views all around. We had a pizza at the terrace after at the clubhouse which was very tasty. Staff was very friendly. We would say, go and play if you can!

Der Platz wirkt ein wenig in die Landschaft reingedrückt.

Im Winter wird er als Langlaufpiste genützt, was sicher sinnvoll ist, da die Golfsaison in den Bergen einiges kürzer ist.

Die Front-9 sind eher etwas enger und oft um irgendwelche Gebäude.

Viele Greens befinden sich nahe der nächsten Abschläge. Oft muss man warten bis die SpielerInnen abgeschlagen haben, bevor man das Green angreift, da diese nicht so gross sind. Jedoch sind die Greens sehr gut gepflegt und haben ein gutes Tempo. Die Fairways haben immer wieder einige kahle Stellen, was aber in dieser Höhe und mit den Voraussetzungen normal ist.

Die Back-9 sind eher in der Natur zu Hause. Der Platz ist bis zwei Löcher (eines hoch, das andere runter) sehr flach.

Die Aussicht auf die umliegenden Berge ist sehr schön.

Ich spiele immer wieder gerne im Golf Club Davos. Die Übungsanlagen und die Driving Range sind zwar klein, jedoch ausreichend. Der Platz wird toll gepflegt und spricht mich persönlich sehr an. Im Clubhouse fühlt man sich auch als Gastspieler sehr willkommen. Falls ich jemals Mitglied eines Golfclubs werde, dann hier.

Golfbaan Davos ligt aan de rand van het dorp waardoor er veel bebouwing langs de holes ligt. Out of bounds ligt overal op de loer. Door de hoogte van 1600 meter vliegen de ballen net wat verder dan op zeeniveau. De baan zelf is, op twee holes na, vlak. Met een trolley prima te lopen. De baan is relatief kort en fairways zijn smal. Soms lopen de holes door elkaar wat verwarrend kan zijn. De omgeving is prachtig met al die bergen op de achtergrond. Ontvangst is supervriendelijk. Oefenfaciliteiten zijn prima en horeca uitstekend. Voor Nederlandse begrippen een dure baan maar dat geldt voor alle banen in Zwitserland. Een prima dag gehad.

I am pleasantly surprised by Golf Club Davos. A very enjoyable and fun golf course! At 1560 meters above sea level the golf season is certainly shorter and it's also not very easy to grow gras here. Playing the course beginning of July was maybe even early in the season. The fairways had a few bare spots, but nothing that affects playability. The advantage of playing a golf course in this altitude is, that your golf ball will fly further 1-2 clubs. Plus the fairways offer enough width. So if you are looking to get some confidence back in your swing, you should consider playing here.

The front 9 play a bit through the village, while the back 9 get more secluded. The course is fairly flat with gentle ondulations. Only 2 holes (16 + 17) are severly uphill and downhill. But overall the course is a nice walk. And it was one of the most fun courses I've played this year. I will definitely come back.
