De baan wordt beschreven als de kleinste real links baan van de wereld. Deze par 3/4 en één par 5 baan is prachtig gelegen aan de kust en prima onderhouden. Vooral de eerste holes zijn niet eenvoudig met een groot hoogteverschil. Tevens zijn er grote rotspartijen aanwezig waar overheen moet worden gespeeld: prachtig. Zeker een course die ik graag nog eens wil spelen.

This is a course that is is likely to polarise golfers, some will love it, some will hate it. In my view, it's a really fun and unique experience, with some quirky and challenging holes... along with some very simple ones. The blind holes are very difficult when playing for the first time, and I'm glad that I played when the course was not very busy, as some of the holes (not only the blind ones) run close to each other, and there is certainly a danger in getting hit by stray shots, or shots played by golfers on the tee before a blind green or target is cleared. So, ring the bells and pay attention. Aside from that, the course requires good fitness, as some of the climbs up and down the cliff face require a good effort. I do recommend staying at the nearly Cullen Inn (just above the course), as its a wonderful, classic inn, with friendly staff, and the rooms are clean and just comfy enough for a golf stay. I've included a photo from the breakfast room, one of the best breakfast views I've ever seen! The hotel is a good base if one is playing other courses in the area, and you can walk to the Cullen Links from the hotel, just crossing the road and walking down the stairs and back down the 1st hole (about a 10 minute walk). All that being said, the views from Cullen are outstanding, the experience is unique... its certainly worth playing at least once for the fun of it... and its going to up to the individual golfer (and his/her preferences) as to whether or not this is a course that they would choose to play again... after their first visit. I assume there will be some who say: "Glad I played it once, but I don't need to come back"... and others who say: "Wow, that as fun, let's go out and play it again this afternoon". That's the great thing about golf... variety.

No vas a encontrar otro campo como este. Creo que lo vas a amar o a odiar. Para mi es genial.

Diseño de Old Tom Morris aquí encontramos algunos detalles muy típicos cómo un green doble.

En general vas a tener poco bunker en juego.

El campo juega en dos niveles diferentes, un altiplano que empieza en el green del 2 y termina en el tee del 7 dónde vuelves a la

zona llana ancha donde te vas encontrando varios greens hasta completar el recorrido.

Esta zona alta resulta (en mi opinion) la menos atractiva del recorrido hasta que llegas al tee del 7 (par 3 largo cuesta abajo) dónde se recupera la magia.

En la zona baja tienes 2 pares 3 ciegos de forma consecutiva. Una locura y una maravilla al mismo tiempo.

La mayoría de hoyos se cruzan continuamente y a veces tienes que esperar a que se libere algún green para poder ejecutar tu golpe de salida. Esto puede llevar a un ritmo juego con constante parón.

Alles wat je vooraf leest over deze golfbaan is waar! Verrassend, uitdagend, prachtige uitzichten, eerlijke maar lastige greens, al met al een fantastisch baan die je een keer gespeeld moet hebben, als je hier in de buurt bent!

Onderhoud van zowel fairways als de greens zijn dik op orde en ook naast de fairways wordt de baan goed bijgehouden!

De hoogteverschillen en de ‘blinde’ slagen maken deze kortere baan toch tot een uitdaging voor alle handicappers!
