Golf De Roquebrune

Op dag 4 van onze golftrip speelden we deze baan helaas in mindere omstandigheden dan de voorbije dagen zodat we deze baan anders aansneden. De baan op zich stond ook nog in onderhoud in relatie met de dure greenfee die we betaalden. Vriendelijke ontvangst en sympathiek clubhuis!

Very nice scenery and interesting course. Maintenance is fine. Overall quite 'forgettable' though.

Tweede keer gespeeld deze vakantie. Eerste 9 perfect. Ik had de eerste starttijd dus heerlijk rustig gespeeld. Na hole 11 gestopt. Te druk, te langzaam en schijnbaar veel beginners. Bij hole 18 werd ik uitgenodigd door een lid om de laatste hole met hem mee te spelen. Erg vriendelijk en gezellig geëindigd op deze manier.

De eerste negen zijn erg mooi, maar ook moeilijk. Hoogteverschillen, schuine liggingen, rough met dik stug en redelijk hoog gras. Het is wonderbaarlijk hoe goed de fairways zijn met dit warme en droge weer. Daar omheen is het droog, harde ondergrond en rotsachtig. Tweede negen vond ik minder bijzonder, zowel lay-out als het uitzicht. Zeker genoten.

Difficult golf course with a crazy layout. Almost unplayable when there is a lot of wind. Pro: -Nice proshop with plenty of stuff to buy. -Friendly reception with tee gift. -Good driving range and chipping green. -Very nice buggies with gps. -I saw sheep on the golf course to help with the maintenance. That is cool! -Amazing surroundings. Stunning views on the mountains and on the Saint Raphael bay. -Hole 5 is an amazing par 5. -The maintenance is okay. Con: -The practice green was not in the best shape. It looked like the cups had been in the same place for a while. And speed was irregular. -Hole 3 is unplayable for me. Crazy layout with a total blind tee shot. Perhaps after playing it for a few more times, I could figure this hole out. -Strange that the beautiful 14th par 4 hole is shortened to a par 3. Especially because hole 15 also is a par 3.
