Golf in Essex
Essex biedt heel wat verschillende ervaringen. Essex kent behoorlijk wat mooie golfbanen, maar er is verder ook nog genoeg te ontdekken en te beleven. Van de wereldwijd befaamde nachtclub Sugar Hut tot de rust van de Blackwater zoutpannen. Van het bruisende rumoer van Chelmsford, de nieuwste stad van Groot-Brittannië, tot de historische grootsheid van 'Britain's First City', Colchester. Essex is een graafschap in het zuidoosten van Engeland, net ten noordoosten van Londen. De diepe estuaria aan de oostkust geven Essex de langste kust van alle graafschappen. Een groot deel van de bevolking van Essex, vooral in het zuiden, pendelt naar Londen om daar te werken.

Set in the Essex heartland just outside Billericay, this is a nice enough parkland course with many holes featuring water hazards of one type or another. Stock Brook Golf Club
A multi-use venue with leisure facilities and functions hosted alongside the golf. Stock and Brook are the two main 9 hole courses but you can mix and match with the slightly less salubrious Manor 9 holes to add variety. Benton Hall Golf & Country Club
Water, water everywhere on this Essex course. If you get through your round with the same ball you started with you’ll be doing very well indeed. The streams, ponds and lakes certainly add to the picturesque setting at this combined country club/golf course. Gorgeous on a lovely sunny day but take a few spare balls.

Maylands Golf Club
A down-to-earth venue just off Junction 28 of the M25. It can get a bit heavy in winter months but they certainly try to soldier on and keep it open as much as possible. Don't be surprised if you come across herds of deer on your way round; there's quite a rural feel away from the hum of the nearby motorway. Relaxed clubhouse with a warm Essex welcome.
