About Apes Hill Club
One of the newest championship golf courses in the Caribbean, opened in late 2009, Apes Hill Club enjoys a prime location at almost 1000 feet above sea level in the centre of Barbados. With lush grassland, coral stone quarries, wooded ravines and sparkling lakes, the course is as much in accord with its natural surroundings as it is an exciting challenge for golfers. Multiple tees, elevated to showcase the breathtaking west and east cast views, allow players of all capabilities equal opportunity for a satisfying game. The top quality layout of the 7150 yards, par-72 course has been implemented with tremendous regard to the full range of strategies that players need to adopt when facing each hole. As would be expected at a venue of such high aspirations, the course is maintained in immaculate condition.

Championship courseAbsolutely gutted when the course closed but have heard it’s due to open again in 2022 so aiming to get on the course again
When I was there last the club had undergone a massive overhaul and renovation which should have been the springboard to success
As soon as I arrived saw first group of apes (hence the name) welcomed with a smile and usual Bajan grin
When it opens well worth a visit
Greens always tricky make sure you take in the views and avoid the rain showers if you can.

Championship courseDe prijs is voor Nederlanders fors maar je krijgt er wel een topbaan voor terug. Goede fairways goede greens (jammer 2e negen waren net geprikt nog steeds snel maar toch). Greens moeilijk in te schatten en veel ondulatie. Ook vaak beschermd door mansdiepe bunkers. Par 3 waarbij driver of w3 nodig was doordat de windtegen was. Geweldige natuur verzichten en aapjes.
Tussen holes veel ruimte op een andere fairway terechtkomen is onmogelijk. Lopen is lastig want de afstand van green tot volgende hole is vaak lang en voorzien van heuvels. Fairwaybunkers liggen op de juiste plaats dus spelen vergt de goede clubkleuze en landingsplaats.
Kortom voor mij tot nu toe de mooiste baan maar niet echt geschikt voor hoge handicappers alles kan maar je handicap spelen wordt erg lastig.
