The Runaway Bay Golf Club

Dit is een van de "goedkopere" golfclubs van Jamaica. We waren met 2 personen iets meer dan US $ 200 kwijt voor 18 holes. Hiervoor hadden we huurclubs (Titleist), buggy en caddy (deze laatste is verplicht). Houd er rekening mee dat de caddy achteraf ook nog een "tip" moet hebben.

De fairways en de afslagplekken waren redelijk van kwaliteit. De greens waren uitstekend en lastig (snel downhill en redelijk traag uphill). De baan is een parkbaan.

Der Platz liegt direkt am Hotel. Also der Transport ist kein Problem. Das Clubhaus ist ganz schön. Gerade in die Karibik ist das Feeling sofort anders. Vor allem die Musik und das Personal. Alles easy. Wir hatten am ersten tag ein super Caddy die uns sehr viel beigebracht hat. Später haben wir erfahren das er ein Professional war.

Die Bahn war sehr gut und voll mit Überraschungen. Wir haben acht mal gespielt immer mit "unser Caddy". Range Bällen waren unterwegs zu kaufen!

Es gibt natürlich bessere Golfplätze, aber Golf kein Stress. Vom Hotelzimmer bis auf dem Golfplatz. 15 Minuten. Klasse.

It was designed by Commander John Harris from Britain and was opened in 1960. The features of the golf course are long rolling fairways, large flat greens protected by grassy mounds and sand bunkers. It has hosted many championship events including the Ryder Cup Match between the UK and West Indies, the Jamaica Open and World Cup of Golf Super Qualifier.

The course measures 5,389 yards and is slope rated 117 from the forward trees. From the back it measures 6,870 yards and is slope rated 124. The course is well trapped, protecting it from certain errant shots and wind gusts of up to 35 mph
