I have only played Hornbæk once, and it was our second round of the day, after playing a course I really like (Gilleleje) in the morning. I was a hot August day, so being a bit worn out, and also comparing it directly to another course, might not do Hornbæk tje justice it deserves, but here we go.

Overall, I didn't really care for the layou of the course. As such, there's nothing wrong with it, but it just didn't do anything for me, and I had the feeling of playing a slight variation of the same hole over and over again with nothing really standing out execpt for the 17th and 18th.

The 17th is a beautiful short par 3 over water where you have nothing more than a wedge in hand. Being our 35th hole of the day, I dunked one in the water and walked off with a double.

The 18th is a slightly downhill, slightly dogleg right par 5. Somehow I managed to summon all my remaining strength, and hit a monster drive, followed by what is probably one of the best 4 irons of my life, and found myself about 15 feet from the cup with an eagle putt to close out our day. I put a perfect roll on it, but sadly it finished half a rotation short, and I had to "settle" for a tap-in birdie (which I'll take any day).

Again, Hornbæk didn't do much for me, but I would like to go back an revisit to see if my mind can be changed. But if you are in that part of Denmark, I would recommend you take a look at Helsingør or Gilleleje for better options.
