Santa Claus Golf

Santa Claus Golf is an 18-hole golf course situated at the Arctic Circle in northern Finland. The town of Rovaniemi with all its services (hotels, shopping centres etc.) and transportation connections (airport, railway station) is only a few minutes’ drive away. Built at the feet of Ounasvaara, the first 9 holes of the course were designed by Pekka Simula in 1997. The course was completed in 2011 with the design of golf architect Lassi Pekka Tilander. The winding fairways on the forestry hillsides offer a relaxing golfing experience for a beginner but the narrow holes and differences in altitude are challenging also for more experienced golfers, especially when played from the back tee. The top of Ounasvaara fell offers beautiful views down to the valley of the Kemijoki river.
