Nenagh Golf Club

The most appealing design feature of the golf course is elevation changes. You hit up or down and, of course, dogleg right or left which is never boring. To me the signature holes are all par3s although there are not the most difficult, except hole 6, but all fun. I was told that the par3 9th is the remaining original hole (originally there were only 9 at this course in the distant past) designed by the Augusta National designer Alister Mackenzie (and you will know why). Many of the greens are undulating with some nasty slopes which makes it challlenging and interesting. Greens condition was great, no deep spiking as at many other course at this time of year. I was told that the course stays mostly dry during winter due to draining soil and of course of those elevation changes. Bunkers with the fine sand and great condition. Facilities very decent as well as the clubhouse and restaurant.
