Golfclub Lungau

Prachtige onderhouden baan. Vond hem niet verschrikkelijk moeilijk maar door eiland greens wel zeer interessant.

The Lungau/Katschberg Golf Club is located at an elevation of 1,050 meters above sea level, right in the shadow of Mount Katschberg. Together with other Alpine peaks over 2,000 meters high, it creates a beautiful landscape. The course has a total of 27 holes. It was designed by the Englishman Keith Preston. Warm up on a pleasant 9-hole course that’s 1,250 meters long and features just one par 4. The main course is completely flat. The popular Muhr Cycle Path runs through the parking lot and along several holes. Water comes into play in the form of two lakes. You’ll also have to cross the Muhr River twice, and the drive on the 10th hole—through a forest clearing—requires particularly steady nerves. The areas between the fairways are lined with mature conifers, birch trees, and plenty of shrubs. The signature hole on the main course is the final hole, a par 5 with a peninsula green near the clubhouse. The clubhouse is renowned for its cuisine, featuring excellent fish specialties.

Mooie vlakke en goed onderhouden baan in prachtige omgeving. Niet al te moeilijk. Redelijke kans op birdies op de par 3 holes. Vriendelijke ontvangst en heerlijke zelfgemaakte tomatensoep. Handicap met 0,3 naar beneden gehaald. 🏌️‍♂️⛳️ Zeker de moeite waard om te bezoeken.

The course is surrounded by beautiful mountains and the grass is amazingly maintained. I enjoyed playing the course in the early morning, evening and during the hot summer days. It's stunning, the water elements add a good challenge and to be stunned and amazed by the mountains is just beautiful.
