Golf in Salzburg
Salzburgerland borders to Germany on the north and is also connected to the provinces of Tyrol, Upper Austria, Carinthia and Styria. Salzburgerland is famous for its great skiing trips on the majestic mountain peaks in winter time but its ancients salt mines, majestic castles and the vibrant city of Salzburg make a visit in summer time worth your while as well. The city of Salzburg offers something for everyone. The town thanks its symbol to the 900 year old fortress Hohensalzburg, which is Europes largest completely preserved castle. It is now the home to several museums. The nearby Salzburg Cathedral is considered to be the most important sacred building of the city. It was in this cathedral where Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart was baptized. When you visit Salzburg you might also want to visit Mozart's birthplace. The brilliant composer was born on 27 January 1756 in the famous Getreidegasse, where high, narrow houses, special shops and romantic courtyards create a cosy atmosphere. Some of the villages in Salzburgerland are also worth a visit. For example, Sankt Gilgen because of its beautiful location on the lake, and also the towns of Bad Hofgastein, Badgastein, Böckstein and Sportgastein, which are interesting spa villages. Salzburgerland varies from rolling hills to the majestic peaks of the Grossglockner. The area has a lot of attractions, such as the Krimml waterfalls and the ice caves of Werfen. The Hohe Tauern National Park is a true hikers Mecca! Famous sights are the Grossglockner Hochalpenstrasse, the Hohenwerfen castle and the Hallein salt mine. The Sound of Music and the Von Trapp family will always be linked to Salzburgerland. Not only did the real Von Trapp family once live here, the movie was also filmed in Salzburgerland. Explore the many locations in the city of Salzburg and the surrounding countryside. Panorama tours offers a bus tour, which takes you to all movie sites. In summer (staring in June) you can expect a reasonable amount of sunshine and gentle temperatures but there might also be some rainy days. July and August are warmer and the higher temperatures are ideal for swimming, outside dinners and golf! Golf in Salzburgerland is great. There is a great variety of golf courses in Salzburgerland and many of them have spectacular views of the Alps. There is a good mix of golf courses that are located in the valley as well as alpine golf courses that are a real test for your stamina! One of the best courses in Salzburgerland is Golf & Country Club Gut Altentann, which is located in Henndorf only 20 kilometers northeast of Salzburg. In 1989 Gut Altentann was the first golf course on the continent of Europe to be designed by the great Jack Nicklaus. According to Nicklaus it was “a pleasure to design and build this course due to its beautiful and optimal environment.” Another popular golf clubs in Salzburgerland is Golfclub Zell am See – Kaprun. The course is surrounded by the impressive mountain range of the Hohen Tauern and has an amazing view on the snow-capped glacier of the Kitzsteinhorn (3,203 m), and is also not far from Austria’s highest peak the Grossglockner (3,798 m). The club has 36 holes and is devided in the loops of the Schmittenhöhe course and the Kitzsteinhorn course. Both of these courses are Golf Alpin partner clubs. Golf Alpin (https://www.golf-alpin.at/en/) offers a golf card that is valid for every one of the more than 40 Golf Alpin partner golfclubs in Tyrol and SalzburgerLand. The Golf Alpin card gives you great benefits and can be bought at every Golf Alpin club or Golf Alpin partner hotels. In winter, Salzburgerland is a true winter sports paradise. Both on and off piste. You can go skiing, snowboarding, cross country skiing, snowshoeing, snow biking and more and enjoy the après-ski, delicious food and hospitality in the cozy villages. There is always something going on in SalzburgerLand. Of course outside in nature, where in summer golf, hiking and biking are the activities of choice, and in winter of course all conceivable types of winter sports. But apart from that, there are all kinds of events throughout the year that make Salzburgerland definitely worth a visit.

Golf & Country Club Gut Altentann
Very nice Jack Nicklaus designed golf course (the very 1st one in Continental Europe) where precision is the key if you want to score here. Not very long but most of the greens are quite small and well protected. Same goes for thr Par 3's which are not long but it is not easy to get to the dance floor. Considering the fact that this is probably one the best golf courses …

Golfclub Salzburg - Eugendorf
Eugendorf golf course is very well maintained with nice fairways and good and quite fast greens. Layout is very diverse and every hole is completely different. Some very nice holes. Clubhouse is nothing special. Driving range is decent and you even get pink range balls. :) Well stocked pro shop with very friendly staff. Well recommend if you are in the area.

Golfclub Nationalpark Hohe Tauern
