Golf du Grand-Bornand

Une belle journée entre amis golfeurs dans un cadre enchanteur au fonds de la vallée dominée par les montagnes. Le golf en lui-même est sympa, bien piégeur, les fairways corrects, mais les greens sont très durs renvoyant la balle assez loin, il vaut mieux jouer cours et chiper. L’accueil et le restaurant sont très bien, d’ailleurs ce dernier était complet.

Kleine baan met een paar par 4 rest par 3. Leuk om een keer te doen als je in de buurt bent. Niet vergelijken met een 18 holes maar wel gezellig en mooie vergezichten.

During our holiday in the Alps we played this short 9 hole course of Golf Le Rocher Blanc in Le Grand-Bornand (where the Tour de France often passe by) and situated just a few kilometers from the centre of town. The first impression is one of lots of activity: a full parking lot, many golfers on the mats on the driving range and practice green. The course is short but should not be underestimated with lots of dog legs left and right. The longest hole is 307/260 meters. The greens are in good condition. It is a true pity that golfers here are not educated or told to have a pitchfork with them to repair their pitchmarks. This results in really damaged greens which is a shame. The only other remark I have is that the mats used at each tee area should be maintained better. After our round we had drinks on the terrace of the cosy clubhouse. All in all a most pleasant golfing experience!

Played there some time ago, okay par 3&4 course with beautiful surroundings close to La Clusaz in the French Alps. Don't go out of your way to get here but if you are in the area and need to hit some balls you might as well do it with these amazing views.
