We played this course on a warm day. The refreshing sea breeze not only made the conditions comfortable but also added an extra challenge to the game. We were provided with a detailed course guide on arrival, which proved very useful. The course features plenty of elevation changes and a number of back-and-forth holes across the same terrain. The course has a relatively high number of par-3 holes. The course was in good condition and clearly well maintained.

The approach to the first tee at Royal Jersey is breathtaking. To the left of the relatively narrow fairway stands the 18th-century Fort Henry. On the right are two bunkers from German World War II fortifications. Perched on a rocky promontory above the sea is Mont Orgueil Castle, built in the 13th century to defend against a French invasion. It’s a dream. The sea stretches right along the entire right side of the first four holes. In the distance, you can see the French coast. I don’t know of many more beautiful views in golf. The par-70 course is relatively short by today’s standards. But that just makes it all the more enjoyable. The 8th hole is a short one (just 106 yards). One of the toughest is the 12th, where the hole is on a very bumpy green. The penultimate hole runs right past Fort Henry. What an experience. You can reach the course from the capital, Saint Helier, by bus, which stops at the 15th green.

A wonderful backdrop for a round of golf. Course was quite tight with a lot of holes were quick spectacular. Course design is very good.
Greens were being top dressed but didn’t really affect the quality of them.
Shame the Members don’t look after there locvely course better, with a few too many divots and pitch marks left unrepaired.

Klassieke cliff-coast links baan.
