United Kingdom

The United Kingdom is especially a popular golf destination for golfers from the USA and slightly less for European golfers as they mainly go to countries with warmer temperatures. The most famous golf courses - generally the older ones - can be pretty expensive. Most other golf clubs - and there are many - in the United Kingdom however provide high quality golf for an excellent value.

With the recent post-lockdown surge in demand, it can be quite hard to get a round away from your home course at short notice. It was, then, something of a Hobson's choice for a round with a mate on a last minute trip to East Kent. Stonelees is very much a 'what you see is what you get' pay and play course and we weren't, frankly, expecting much when we turned up. However…

Such an excellent course the only downside was my golf! Ever thing in such good condition played off the white tees which gave an extra challenge Every hole is well maintained and since I last played here so much work has been done improving it even further. A course to play if you get a chance you won’t find many finer than this.

One of the many top notch golf venues in what used to be called the stockbroker belt in Surrey. As they say on their website, it's a 'country club and resort' as well as having three golf courses from which to choose. I've only played the Bernard Hunt course which is a great challenge in all senses. Very hilly with plenty of trees and water to spice things up. Keep it str…

Although the course is currently undergoing complete renovation, it’s still a great place for a round in the London area. Very hilly in places with lots of ravines and twists and turns to navigate. The views over London in places are spectacular. Very warm welcome at the halfway house and the 19th hole to round off the experience. Highly recommended, particular when the w…

A club offering so much and a real delight to come back and play. The club are undergoing a massive renovation project so hard to write as good a review as when I previously played it. Nevertheless still a great course some fantastic greens but the amount of gur didn’t really put higher up the order. Only 3 practice nets so this brought overall score down On a plus po…

played here yesterday one the fog had lifted. There have been a great deal of improvements to the course of the last 9+ months. Greens are running medium-fast and true. Fairways and tee areas all well manicured. There have been a number of bunkers that have been completely redesigned and renovated, with revetting to all faces and drainage incorporated to prevent pooling o…

Water, water everywhere on this Essex course. If you get through your round with the same ball you started with you’ll be doing very well indeed. The streams, ponds and lakes certainly add to the picturesque setting at this combined country club/golf course. Gorgeous on a lovely sunny day but take a few spare balls.
