The Club at Meyrick Park

Fantastic short course. Tight holes, great par 3s and superb greens. Fairways are hard and a bit scruffy in places but this did not detract from the test that this course gives. Deceptive distances and some lovely funneled tree lined drives. Loved it.

Deze baan gespeeld tijdens droogste zomer in 90 jaar. Dat had grote gevolgen zonder sproeisysteem op de fairways. Deze hadden veel schade als gaten, veel zand en weinig gras. Greens waren deels bespeelbaar, de helft kreeg juist groot onderhoud. Volgens de greenkeepers standaard procedure in augustus. Wat opviel was de grote hoeveelheid zwerfvuil op en rond de baan. Een grof schandaal. De lay-out was mooi, met uitdagende en afwisselende holes. Heuvelachtig parcours dat te lopen is, maar een buggy is fijn. Mijn negatieve rating van de baan heb ik hiermee wel onderbouwd. Omdat we met Golfbreaks hotel+golf hadden geboekt, is deze locatie af te raden. Bournemouth en strand liggen op loopafstand, dat is een plus. Ik geloof niet dat ik deze baan zou aanraden bij een mooi voorjaar en alles groen.

Surprisingly near to Bournemouth town centre, this course weaves its way in between the heather and pines which are common in this neck of the woods. Accuracy needed to keep it on the fairway and out of those woods. Nice no-frills venue.
