The best conditioned golf course in the Bristol area and one of the best back 9 layouts in the region.

A course of contrasting design, holes 1 & 2,11 - 18 are easy walking and probably the pick of the bunch (along with the two par 3's on the front 9). In my opinion,11 - 18 provide some of the best-designed holes in the region, coupled with the conditioning and relative lack of space that this city course has been designed in, it really is exceptional to what has been achieved here.

Holes 3 - 10 are fun to play, but may not suit every golfer as the majority of fairways are set on a camber (apart from 8) and there are some crisscrossing of holes. That said, the drop hole 7th has to be one of the prettiest par 3's locally, up there with Saltford's 17th and Kendleshire's 11th.

I’ve played at Henbury a number of times and would say it’s worth playing if you are in the area.

There are some really nice holes, in particular the 7th which is a downhill par 3 with a stream running just in front of the green.

I understand that it was previously a 9 hole course and extra land was acquired to create the 18 hole layout. In my opinion, they didn’t get quite enough additional land. The layout is a bit weird with a long walk from the 2nd to the 3rd. Some of the holes on the front 9 seem crammed in and there are a few places where holes cross (so you have to be on your guard for tee shots crossing the fairway/green you are playing on).

The 10th hole is up a very steep hill which seems to just be a way to link the front 9 to the rest of the holes. The severity of the slope makes it quite an unpleasant hole first to tee off on and then to walk up.

When we played the course was well maintained and the fairways were lush, grassy and nice to play off, whereas some other courses in the area were struggling with burnout at the time due to the high temperatures.
