Tyrrells Wood Golf Club

Set in the Surrey Hills near Box Hill the course has several steep fairways both up and down having only two par 5s and three par 3s its the par 4s that provide a real challenge. Fast and deceptive greens give the course its difficulty plus some well placed bunkers can soon see your score going over par. A good halfway hut provides well a deserved treat at the 10th tee. A well stocked bar and friendly atmosphere at the 19th round things off even better when sitting on the terrace in the summer.

This course has only 3 holes played on level ground every thing else is on a slope or a hill. A fairly tight course in places shortish par 4s except the 6th. All the greens run fast and true but beware a miss read will leave you a long way from the hole. Friendly staff and good food await you at the end of your round and the terrace in the summer gives superb views over the surrey hills.

I came here with a large group for a Christmas party in December. I felt that the price increase was too excessive as we have used Tyrrells wood for years. The head chef actually went out of his way to make contact with me. He explained that the previous manager had left and was most helpful in the restoration of our business relationship. I was really surprised he took the time to do this and was very happy with the outcome of our conversation. I can not fault the customer service here and with reflection we still had a lovely evening too. We will definitely be going back next year and I would recommend this venue to large groups as well as individuals. A huge thank you to Richard for his time.
