Dalmahoy East CourseEen schitterende park golfbaan nabij Edinburgh. Een schitterende omgeving met uitzicht op dit landhuis/kasteel uit ca 1750. De historie druipt ervan af. De teeboxen, fairways en met name de greens zijn prachtig onderhouden en super snel. Enorm genoten. Los van het spel. Met name hole 9 naar het kasteel is uitzonderlijk mooi.
Dalmahoy East CourseEr is een driving range wat in Schotland vrij uitzonderlijk is, maar is vrij weinig uitgerust. Oefenballen kosten 5 GBP voor 50 stuks. De front nine zijn nogal eentonig, de back nine hebben meer uitdagingen. Er zijn maar drie par 3 en geen waterhindernissen. Hole 1 en 10, gelegen vlak bij het clubhuis en het hotel, zijn de moeite waard en hole 18 is zeer mooi om te spelen. Het is een typische parkbaan, maar Schotland heeft natuurlijk meer te bieden.

Dalmahoy East CourseOnze eerste baan in Schotland voor de aankomende week. We hebben ook geslapen in het Dalamahoy hotel. We zouden eerst spelen op de West course maar door regen wilde we later spelen en konden we spelen op de East course. De East course is mooier dan dan West course. De fairways en greens zijn goed. De baan was in goede conditie. We hebben de gelopen met een trolley dat is te doen. Soms een stevig heuveltje. Er zijn uitdagende holes bij.

Dalmahoy East CourseDalmahoy is a former Solheim cup location. The east course is a long course winding through the hills of Edinburgh. The fairways are quite wide and this makes golf on this course a happy experience, if you are able to hit the ball far. The fairways and greens were in very good condition. The walk on the course is not too difficult. It's a pity that the (free of charge) trolleys only have 2 wheels and not three as we see on other courses. The course is not 9 out and in but after 9 holes you return to the starters home (and the hotel). Hole 9 and 10 are next to each other. The 2nd 9 differs a bit from the first. Holes 13 and 14 are more enclosed by trees as the other holes. Overall we have had a good time on the course. During the week there are plenty of tee times available but in the weekend the members take over the place (we could not get a Saturday tee time) And it's value for money.
Dalmahoy East CourseA beautiful course! We rented clubs, which were very good and a buggy. Price versus quality was great!

Dalmahoy East Course
18 holesThe East Course has been host to major events such as the Solheim Cup, the Scottish PGA and the Scottish Seniors Open to name a few. Nicknamed ‘The Beast’ this course is a true challenge for even the very best golfers demanding a combination of raw power and a precise short game to be able to score. The fairways are wide and mostly forgiving (save for a few cunningly placed bunkers by Mr Braid), so you’re able to open the shoulders and really go for it on most tees. The greens are large and receptive, meaning you should have a large target to aim at if you can keep the ball in play off the tee.
Dalmahoy West Course
18 holesA perfect complement to its bigger brother, the West Course has an excellent mix of challenging holes which will test your accuracy off the tee and your short game around the greens. Ideal for beginners or people who only play occasionally, the West Course can be shortened to just 9 or 13 holes, as the course winds its way past the Hotel giving the option of only playing for 90 mins to 2hrs if you’re short on time.
