Er wordt stevig geïnvesteerd in deze baan; op diverse plekken is men bezig met verbetering. Dat staat echter niet altijd goed in de baan aangegeven. Mooi faciliteiten zoals kleedruimtes, oefen greens, clubhuis, parkeerplaats, terrasje. De eerste 9 holes bieden geen erg spectaculaire holes wel mooie fairways en prachtige grote bomen. Helaas ligt het rond een drukke weg die je moet oversteken als je van 1 naar 2 gaat en van 8 naar negen. Het verkeer blijf je eigenlijk altijd horen.

Schöner Platz mit tollem alten Baumbestand. Es gibt einige Bahnen mit Doglegs, wo die Bäume dann so richtig ins Spiel kommen. Die Äste sind aber fair geschnitten, so dass man sich mit einem flachen Punch schon mal retten kann. Der Platz wird von 2 Straßen durchquert. Es hat dort viel Lkw Verkehr. Die Bahnen 2 bis 9 liegen auf den anderen Seite der einen Straße,11 bis 17 hinter der anderen Straße. Nur die Bahnen 1,10 und 18 sind also dort, wo das Clubhaus und die Practice Area sind. Das Clubhaus ist frisch renoviert und auf dem neuesten Stand. Die Leute Im Sekretariat und im Pro-Shop waren sehr nett. Wem also der Verkehrs-Lärm und das insgesamt 4-malige überqueren der Straßen nichts ausmacht, dem kann ich den Platz empfehlen. Wenn man mal von Bahn 17 absieht, kommt der Straßenverkehr auch nicht bedrohlich ins Spiel.

Oudste golfbaan van Napier, hetgeen ook blijkt uit de volgroeide boompartijen op deze vlakke parkbaan. Vriendelijke ontvangst. Als overseas bezoeker koste twee greenfees, car (hier niet nodig) en golfsets ongeveer 120 euro. De baan is vriendelijk en niet echt opwindend. De front tees waren soms moeilijk te vinden. Fairways en greens in orde.

An interesting and established golf club, with an amazing selection of huge trees to lose balls under, and some fantastic carved golf-orientated sculptures lurking in the bushes. Wide fairways, treacherous doglegs, tricky greens, and a beautiful state of green-keeping made this a real pleasure to play. The only slight downside was the practice driving range, but a far better one is opened on the far side of the golf course, along with a pitch-and-putt, but needing a car to access, and the rather scary road-crossings on a busy state highway junction to access both 18 hole courses. Then again, "busy" in NZ is not really the same as anywhere else on Earth.
