Golf in Australia

Australia is not the first country that pops up when thinking of a golf destination. Australia is known for its Ayers Rock, Sydney, the Harbour Bridge, the Opera House and the Great Barrier Reef to name a few highlights. But, Australia is also home to some stunning golf courses. Australian golf courses are - in general - fairly affordable.

Golf in Australia
The unique thing about many golf clubs in Australia is their location. Test your game on links courses that wind through the wild and dramatic dunes of northeast Tasmania. Or tee up alongside the sandstone sea-cliffs of southern Sydney or on a tropical island in the Great Barrier Reef. It's all possible in Australia. In total there are 491 golf clubs in Australia. Well-known courses, which are often also the best golf courses in Australia are: Royal Melbourne Golf Club, Kingston Heath Golf Club, The National Golf Club, The Victoria Golf Club, Barnbougle Tasmania and The Metropolitan Golf Club. You will not find a lot of golf resorts in Australia, but quite a few Aussie courses will provide lodging in the form of villa's or lodges. Australia is a large continent, so climates differ. The Northern part of Australia has a subtropical climate, the center has a desert climate and the southern part of Australia has a sea climate. In summer time - during December, January and February - temperatures can be quite high. In central Australia, don't expect a lot of rain all year, in the east and south Australia, rainfall during the summer is sligthly less than in winter and in the (sub) tropical north of Australia rain is very common during the summer.

Royal Melbourne Golf Club

Cathedral Lodge & Golf Club
Heel …

New South Wales Golf Club
Machtig mooie baan langsheen de Tasmaanse zee. Enkele holes gaan recht naar zee toe. Moeilijk en uitdagend. Verschillende gevaarlijke blind shots.

Cape Wickham Links – King Island
