IBEROSTAR Bávaro Golf

If you are staying in the Bávaro area and looking for a round that is convenient and engaging without the steep "ocean-front" price tag of its big neighbors, the Iberostar Bávaro Golf Club is a good choice. While it lacks the dramatic sea views of Corales or Punta Espada, it offers a very different, lush inland experience. Design & Playability: The design by P.B. Dye is quite impressive. It features a lot of signature Dye elements, including significant undulations, creative bunkering, and the clever use of rock work. One of the biggest pluses for me was the pace: it was nice and fast to play. Unlike the coastal courses that can get backed up, here you can really get into a rhythm and enjoy a brisk 18 holes. Conditioning: To be fair, the condition could have been a little better during my visit. Some areas felt a bit worn, but to be honest, there had been heavy rain just before I played, which is always a challenge for inland courses in the tropics. Despite the moisture, the course held up reasonably well, and the greens still rolled at a decent speed. Atmosphere: The course is surrounded by lush tropical vegetation and feels like a secluded garden. It’s a great layout for those who want to focus on their technical game—navigating the narrow fairways and well-placed hazards requires more strategy than just "bombing it" over the ocean. Unique Feature: Look out for the star-shaped bunker on the 8th hole (a nod to the Iberostar logo) Verdict: Iberostar Bávaro is a solid "resort course." It might not have the "wow factor" of the cliffside holes next door, but it’s a well-designed, enjoyable, and efficient place to play. Perfect for a quick round during your vacation where the focus is on the sport itself.

Impresionante campo, bien cuidado, ambiente buenísimo, greens algo lentos pero en buen estado, si estás en punta cana tienes que jugarlo sin duda. La única pega el elevado precio.

I gave this golf club a poor rating for these reasons. We were a party of 14,10 golfers and 4 riders. We were in the D.R. for a friend's wedding that next day. We had made the reservation 2 weeks in advance. Still when we arrived, they were not prepared for us. We all had club rentals so the between the rental and greens fee it became expensive quick, almost $300.00 us. "The Good", the fees included a free drink cart with water and snacks included while on the course. "The Bad". the rental equipment was very, very used and included "Tees" only, no balls. They were priced as if gold lined. "The Ugly". The water bottles given to the us in our coolers had nice Iberostar logos, at first I was concerned that they were not sealed. I got suspicious when the cart attendants would not give us another water bottle until the first one was empty and we had to exchange for another. I became horrified when I realized that they were refilling those bottles from larger water bottles right there on the drink cart and returning those bottles to inventory to distribute to other guest without sterilization. At that point I switched to "beer" only and it didn't take long for 90 plus degrees,90% humidity and the other afore mentioned factors to turn the experience into a bad one.

Baan met wisselende holes in mooie natuurlijke omgeving. Best wel aantal uitdagende holes. Lange PAR 3en. Lastige bunkers. Soms hard soms dikke laag zacht zand. Greens rollen prima. Het gras naast de fairways is voor ons Europeanen lastig. Het gras “ vreet” je club op of je bal. Durven doorslaan. Geen holes langs de kust maar heerlijke dag golf.
