Basic golf course, compact design, very few interesting features. Good for beginners, but otherwise will become boring.

Great little track in the western Dublin city limits. I was pleasantly surprised by this course. None of the holes are challenging when it comes to length but the greens make up for this. The land slides down away from the club house and this steep descent is evident on the greens around this course. Even when you get up to the 'flat' holes during the back nine - the greens are a real challenge that demand respect.

There was torrential rain over the two days before I played this course and the greens were still lightning fast and the breaks were very subtle but punishing of ones lack of discern. There was a lot of home members playing and the round took nearly 5 hours for a 3 ball so I would suggest playing during the week or earlier in the day.

With two putting green, a chipping green and a driving range the facilities are there for those in search of practice. The only fault I could put on the club is the club house. The 'locker rooms' have no lockers and there was nothing welcoming about the clubhouse. The members were nice and always could have a chat and a laugh while waiting on tee-boxes.

I feel if golfers came to Elmgreen for the experience they would leave disappointed. A shame as the course is really nice and friendly on the wallet.

Course condition and presentation greatly improved in the last 12 months. Basic enough course a little bit of deja-vu with a repetition of zig zag holes in the middle. Perfect course for the beginner or casual golfer.
