Drainage needed. Wet course hard to walk.

What a gem of a golf course, great layout with lush parkland fairways and in good condition. This place has matured really well in the ten years since I last played it. Relatively simple to get to, East Clare is a golf course that is not on many people's radar with Dromoland Castle not far away while the famed links courses Lahinch and Doonbeg are less than an hour away. What's good? The course is in impeccable condition and is being kept to a very high quality. The green's were pure and fairways cut tight. The clubhouse is lovely however an improvement would be to show a couple staff members what service is supposed to be rather than feel like I'm meant to be doing them a favour!

Afwisselende golfbaan die goed te belopen is. Op verschillende holes is water een serieuze hindernis. Hole 10 bijvoorbeeld. Eerst de afslag over water en dan moet je voor de green nog een keertje water over. Ben je eenmaal op de green dan is een goede score nog niet vanzelfsprekend. Erg uitdagende green. De bunkers stellen niet veel voor. Wij liepen deze baan voor 20 euro op zondag! Lekker geprijsd dus.

Bij de baan zijn huisjes te huur die erg de moeite waard zijn. Al met al een prima adres voor een golfbreak in Ierland.

Parkland très sélectif, réclame une très bonne stratégie de jeu, des montées des trous en dévers d'autres en contrebas, de l'eau (prévoir quelques balles)

East lake GC is located just 5 minutes from Lough Derg and not far from Shannon Airport. East Clare GC is also close to Dromoland Castle. This par 71 course with more than 5,920 meters has a variety of holes. Some dogleg holes, about 4 holes were water is in sight or should be ignored by hitting you tee-shot. Therefore the fairways has several strategically placed potentially hazardous elements i.e. lakes, streams, bunkers and trees.

The course is easy to walk.. Some greens are sloping away for example hole 10. But in general wide fairways and the greens were speedy. The course is in good condition and very nice to play because it is in a quiet area of Ireland. The clubhouse is lovely and nice service for your drinks and food.
