Craigielaw is situated just 20 miles east of Edinburgh amidst the glorious coastal scenery of East Lothian in Scotland, a private haven for the discerning golfer. Inspired by the great links courses of Britain, particularly those on land which are less dominated by dunes, Craigielaw is equal to many of the finest examples of such courses which are conveniently located nearby in the East Lothian area. Craigielaw has some extremely challenging greens and is a true test of your putting ability.

Craigielaw CourseHet golf is perfect - zeker als de zon schijnt. De baan ligt er begin oktober super bij. We speelden met huurclubs - want helaas waren die niet meegekomen met EasyJet…en dan is een goedgesorteerde golfshop toch wel handig voor schoenen, mutsen etc. Zeker voor mannen is al het noodzakelijk er. En dit leert ook weer ‘spreiden’ - stop golfkleding in andere tas of doe het aan!

Craigielaw CourseMooie golfbaan met ruime driving range en goede putt mogelijkheden. Baan is leuk, loopt langs de kust en het de buurman van Kilspendie.

Craigielaw CourseBaan is redelijk nieuw. Ligt tussen een aantal hele oude banen in en kan daar niet aan tippen. Er is veel hoog gras waar je makkelijk je bal in kunt verliezen. De vele bunkers zijn erg moeilijk. Ik heb het gevoel dat alle ballen van de green rechtstreeks de bunkers in rollen.
De baan heeft een aantal hele leuke holes, maar het zal mijn favoriete baan niet worden.
Faciliteiten zijn wel goed, ruime driving range waarvan je van het gras mag afslaan, par 3 en oefen holes en een goede puttingreen.
Verblijven in het hotel is handig en hotel heeft prima kamers, vraag die met zeezicht dan heb je een mooi uitzicht over 2 golfbanen. Ligging hotel is perfect, heerlijk rustig.
Eten in het hotel is oké maar geen topkwaliteit.

Craigielaw Course
18 holesInspired by the great links courses of Britain, particularly those on land which are less dominated by dunes, Craigielaw is equal to many of the finest examples of such courses; some of which are conveniently located nearby in the East Lothian area. Designed by Donald Steel & Co. the course opened in 2001 and in this short period has been host to many national events, including the 2006 Scottish Amateur Strokeplay Championship and was a qualifying course for the 2007 British Seniors Open at Muirfield. With challenging greens, cavernous bunkers and spectacular views over the Firth of Forth, Gullane Hill and out towards Edinburgh and Fife, Craigielaw Golf Club is an experience not to be missed.
