It’s in 1988, for the Golf de Biarritz Le Phare’s centenary, that the International Training Center and Golf Course of Ilbarritz opened its doors. Built on the former estate of the mysterious and very wealthy Baron Albert de l’Espée, you can see the remains of his magnificent castle all along the course.
It’s a unique concept in Europe, and is well known for its spectacular views and its impressive technical standards.
In one Century, Biarritz has become a golf legend. The Biarritz Golf Club organizes many international competitions, has welcomed many future champions, and is surrounded by many other well known courses.
The Ilbarritz course is a 9 holes course facing the ocean. It’s a par 32, with a 2176 meters length period. Set up as the practice, for the apprenticeship, it’s a very technical golf course.
Set on two levels of ground, a free car system is set up since October 1996, which allows an easy traveling between the two levels.
